Skiing with Helmets is Obligatory for Children
Helmets are obligatory for children up to 15 years when skiing throughout Austria.

Construction work taking place from 12.04.2010 - 31.07.2010
A new roof is being installed (which incorporates the restaurant) so there will be associated disruptions including noise and dust. There will also be building work in House I where reception can be found. The work is predicated to take 16 weeks from 12.04.2010 - 31.07.2010 though this timescale is dependent upon the weather being favourable. The work will commence daily at 08:00 except Sunday.

Winter Tyres & Snow Chains A Must
By law in Austria 01 Nov. - 15 April every year winter tyres are a must. For mountain roads (like Alpine Club) be prepared to have snow chains with you - you must put them on even when you use winter tyres.

Potential Building Works at a Neighboring Hotel
Please be aware that permission has been granted to commence building work on a neighbouring hotel at some point between now and the summer of 2011. As yet there is no start date for these operations but if and when they are scheduled to begin we will provide another update for your convenience.

Eastern - Ostern. 4th and 5th of April 2010 - all shops, supermarkets and banks are closed

Dachstein Extreme 27th March 2010
The hardes touring-ski race in the Estern Alps takes place on the Dachstein glacier.

Ski Season
Ski season in the area begins on the 15th December and runs until a week after Easter Sunday. Ski lifts will not operate before or after these dates unless snow conditions are such that it is deemed to be required (and then it will only be operated at weekends). The ski season in Obertauern runs until 1st May and is a 30 minutes drive away.

Dachstein Glacier - Pure Experience 2009/2010
The Dachstein glacier is the most eastern glacier of the Alps. The journey by cable car up to the summit is an experience in itself. Enjoy cross country skiing, skiing and snow boarding.
