Centered on a beautifully sited and exceptionally enjoyable 18-hole golf course, this resort lies in Champagne Valley, along the R600 connecting the small town of Winterton to the Monks' Cowl entrance gate to the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park, one of South Africa's seven World Heritage sites.

The resorts lies about a four-hour drive from Johannesburg, three hours from Durban, two hours from Pietermaritzburg and 15 minutes from Winterton, the closest town.

The main activity at this resort is golfing, but other on-site options include floodlit tennis courts, four pools, table tennis, sports-putt and a large playground. A spa and gymnasium have been added to appeal to the athletic and body-conscious.

The hotel has a good location for rambling in a scenic part of the Central Berg known for its rock art, and more than a dozen self-guided day trails can be undertaken from the nearby Monk's Cowl entrance gate. Other organized activities available in the area include horseback riding, rafting and mountain-bike excursions. For shopping addicts, several good craft and boutique stores line the road between the resort and Winterton.
