For Family Vacations, Which Beach is Best?

For Family Vacations, Which Beach is Best?

It’s one thing to plan a vacation for yourself, but it’s another thing to plan one for the whole family. Keeping the kids in mind, you want to emphasize safety while maximizing fun for everyone.

And of course, when the weather gets hot, beaches are a vacation must. Still, not every beach has the right features for your family’s wants and needs. Thankfully, the Travel Channel recently listed their 25 best beaches for families – and Diamond Resorts has properties near or at many of them!

One of these is the sandy shores of Virginia Beach, Virginia. And it’s no wonder the beach is technically called “Resort” Beach, as Diamond has five resorts at this family-friendly destination. With properties including Boardwalk Resort and Villas, Ocean Beach Club and Oceanaire Resort, the beach is literally just steps from your room, so you don’t have to wait to enjoy the beach’s many activities.

You can walk along the 3-mile boardwalk, or ride a surrey bike instead. Take it a step further and go horseback riding for the ultimate beach adventure. Complete with a wheelchair accessible children’s park, Virginia Beach is the perfect spot for a family getaway this summer.

But maybe you’re looking to travel to a more tropical locale? Perhaps Hawaii’s Kailua Beach Park on Oahu is for you. And less than 20 miles away is Diamond Resorts’ recently acquired property, The Modern Honolulu, where you can be daring and learn to windsurf or be chill and enjoy fishing from a charter at the nearby marina.

Also, just an island hop away is Poipu Beach Park, less than a mile from The Point at Poipu by Diamond Resorts. The beach’s strategic rock shoulders naturally form a mixture of shallow and deep waters. This means snorkeling for older children and light wading for the little kids. At the resort, enjoy yoga, as well as a spa and sauna for when you’re ready to unwind after day out with the family.

Where are you headed this summer?
